Two employees of the Chinese-owned Asomdwie Rubber Company have been found dead inside a parked vehicle at the premises of a shoe factory in Atonsu Agogo, Ashanti Region.

The deceased have been identified as Baba, a senior staff member, and a female colleague who had been with the company for less than two months. The woman’s name is yet to be confirmed. Asomdwie Rubber Company specializes in plastic processing.

According to reports, the pair were discovered on the back seat of the car, with the woman’s head resting on Baba’s shoulder. Baba was reportedly dressed in a singlet and shorts, while the car’s tinted windows were rolled up and the doors locked at the time of discovery.

Sources indicate that staff had earlier attended the wedding of one of the company’s managers on Saturday, November 22, where both deceased employees were present. Later that evening, the female employee reported for her shift but complained of feeling unwell and was permitted to leave. Around 8 p.m., residents saw Baba’s vehicle enter the area and park. The engine, initially running, was later switched off.

The vehicle remained in the same spot throughout Sunday, November 23, and it was not until Monday, November 24, that workers and residents noticed a foul smell and alerted the police. Officers broke the car windows to access the vehicle and discovered the bodies.

Further reports indicate that Baba had married in August 2025 and his wife is currently pregnant. The female colleague was reportedly preparing for her December 2025 wedding.

The bodies have been deposited at the morgue as police investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
