In a contest where precision and speed define victory, an extraordinary twist has emerged in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz: three sets of identical twins are competing for the ultimate prize.

Their bond goes beyond tactics and preparation — it’s genetic.

For the Ofori Panin Senior High School twins, collaboration comes naturally. They move in sync, complete each other’s sentences, and draw strength from an unspoken understanding built over years.

“We’ve been doing things together since we were little, so competing together in the NSMQ is just one of those things,” one of the boys said.

Mr. Donkor, Ofori Panin’s NSMQ coordinator, noted that this shared instinct is an advantage.
“Instincts come into play when they work together. They know each other’s strengths, and it helps a lot,” he said.

At Aburi Girls Senior High School, another pair of sisters shares that same connection — though expressed through a fiercer push and pull. They challenge each other constantly but remain each other’s strongest support.

Different schools, different strategies — but the same twin bond powering their journey.

Three sets of twins. One national stage. One coveted crown.

The 2025 NSMQ is shaping up to be a contest of minds — and mirrors.

“We’re winning this year’s championship because we’ve worked for it, and we believe God is on our side,” the Aburi Girls twins said with confidence. Their coordinator agrees, describing them as remarkable teammates.

“Some twins are difficult to handle, but these girls are different. They’re respectful, focused, and they’re always ready to move when you move,” he noted.

At Wesley Girls’ High School, the twin dynamic takes a calmer form — steady, calculated, and quietly dominant. The pair led their school to a regional championship earlier in the year, showcasing how twin synergy can be both graceful and formidable.

“We work well together. Being twins helps a lot — sometimes she starts an answer and I finish it,” one of them explained.

While the NSMQ is often viewed as a battle of knowledge and speed, for these twins it is also about rhythm, trust, and a connection forged long before any buzzer round.

When one hesitates, the other instinctively steps in. When one smiles, the other already understands why.

This year, the competition is not just testing intellect — it’s highlighting a rare bond. Because when two minds move as one, brilliance doesn’t just double — it amplifies.
