The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned that localized thunderstorms and rainfall are expected later today across Accra, Kasoa and parts of the Ashanti Region, according to its 24-hour forecast released on Thursday morning. Areas likely to be affected include Accra, Kasoa, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim and Sefwi Bekwai.

GMet noted that mist and fog patches formed over coastal, forest and hilly areas at dawn, reducing visibility for early commuters. Although sunny conditions are expected nationwide by mid-morning, the agency says these will shift to unstable weather in the afternoon. Thunderstorms or rainfall are forecast across parts of the coastal belt, as well as the middle and transition zones, and are expected to continue into the evening.

Meanwhile, northern Ghana will remain mostly dry and slightly hazy throughout the day. The forecast also highlights cool nighttime and early morning temperatures over the upper regions, with rough sea conditions expected along the coast.
