President Mahama Announces 42 Ministerial Nominees, Including 7 Women and 24 MPs
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 17 additional ministers for parliamentary consideration, bringing the total number of ministerial nominees to 42. The latest batch includes three regional ministers, increasing the total number of regional ministerial nominees to 16.
As part of his commitment to maintaining a lean government, President Mahama has capped the number of ministers at 60, despite thousands of hopeful candidates submitting their CVs for consideration.

Reduction of Ministries from 29 to 23
On January 9, 2025, just two days after assuming office, President Mahama announced a major restructuring of government ministries, reducing them from 29 to 23. This administrative reform, aimed at enhancing efficiency and streamlining government operations, was formalized through the Civil Service (Ministries) Instrument, 2025 (E.I. 1), which revoked the previous arrangement under the Civil Service (Ministries) Instrument, 2021 (E.I. 12).

- Minister of State for Government Communications – Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP)
- Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability – Issifu Seidu (MP)
