The Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 general election, Frederick Opare-Ansah, has underscored the need for members of the party to collectively work towards winning the 2024 elections. “Let us put the interest of the party above other personal interests and work in unison to prosecute an effective and efficient political campaign to brighten the party’s chances of winning the next elections,” he stressed.

He urged members of the party to put aside their differences to work in the party’s interest to convince Ghanaians to give the ruling NPP another term in office.

Inauguration

Mr Opare-Ansah was speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate the Upper East Regional campaign team of the party in Bolgatanga.

The 40-member campaign team which is under the chairmanship of the Regional Chairman, Anthony Namoo, was carefully selected to represent the three political zones in the region, namely east, central and west.

He stated that it had become necessary for the rank and file of the party to remain united and work to win the hearts of Ghanaians in the run-up to the crucial 2024 general election to break the eight-year cycle.

Discontent

He cautioned the party members against allowing their political opponents to sow the seed of discontent within them to break their ranks, saying, “Ahead of the upcoming elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started a vile propaganda campaign to pit the supporters against those serving in government”.

He noted that the NDC was trying so hard to brainwash the party supporters that they had been neglected by those in government after enriching themselves, to the detriment of the party and added that the government had implemented a number of interventions which had directly benefitted all Ghanaians.

The Upper Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, entreated the party members to build trust among themselves and do away with tribal politics as it tended to derail the party’s chances of winning the next elections.

“I am very optimistic that if we can do so, we have a brighter chance of winning more parliamentary seats and increasing the presidential votes as well,” he said, and further called on the party members to rally behind the parliamentary candidates and work closely with them to improve the party’s fortunes in the region.

In a welcome address, Mr Namoo said he was hopeful that members of the campaign team would avail themselves and work hard, especially at the polling stations, to ensure a resounding victory for the party.
