The Minerals Commission has described as false, publications on social media by some Civil Society Organizations alleging they have kicked against attempts by a mining firm, Hight Street Mining Company Limited, to mine in Kakum National Park in the central Region.

The comission, in a statement signed by its Chief Executive, Martin Kwaku Ayisi, said the application by the firm was rejected and therefore cannot be processed or considered.

The statement said it has consequently deleted the application from the online mining cadaster.

It further assures the public that no mineral right, whether for prospecting or mining, shall be considered or granted in Kakum National Park.
