Deputy Spokesperson for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Ekua Amoakoh, has slammed Awutu Senya East MP, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, over what she termed as “false and embarrassing” allegations against former Fisheries Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson, during and after the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Amoakoh said recent events have vindicated Hawa Koomson, revealing the “extent of falsehoods” the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) allegedly peddled to win power.
“As time goes on, a lot of vindication is happening, and Ghanaians are beginning to see the truth about the depth and severity of the lies the NDC told to come into power,” she stated.
Her remarks come after Naa Koryoo’s press conference in Parliament on Thursday, November 6, where the MP refuted Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak’s claim that she had denied being attacked during the 2024 polls.
Dr. Amoakoh, however, described the event as “the crowning glory of shame,” accusing Naa Koryoo of deceiving Ghanaians with what she called “a bag of lies.”
She further alleged that Hawa Koomson’s life was nearly endangered during the tense by-election period in the constituency.
“Because of this, Hon. Hawa Koomson was almost killed during that by-election. If anything had happened to her, it would have just been like that — we would cry and move on,” she lamented.
