The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has marked the fifth anniversary of the passing of Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, Ghana’s former President and founder of the Fourth Republic.

In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah, on Tuesday, November 12, 2025, the NDC hailed the late leader as a visionary whose impact on Ghana’s development and democracy remains enduring.

“As the party, the nation, and his numerous admirers worldwide remember him for his sterling contributions to the development and welfare of our people, we in the NDC remain assured that nothing will erase his legacy from the history of Ghana,” the statement read.

The party also expressed grief over the recent passing of Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, describing her as a patriotic figure deserving of full national honors for her service to the country.

“For us in the NDC, it has been five long years of mourning and sorrow. We shall always remember him,” the statement added.

“Comrade President, Chairman Rawlings, continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.”
