Minority Leader in Parliament, Mr. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has described the current government, led by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as a complete failure, asserting that only the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can offer Ghanaians a better standard of living.

Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference held at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, July 19, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Ghana is now paying the price for trusting the NDC’s hollow promises.”

He criticized the NDC government, saying its betrayal has become evident just months into power.

He added that fuel levies have increased pump prices, worsening the hardship of ordinary Ghanaians, and efforts to end illegal mining (galamsey) have failed.

“Their vow to reset our nation has become a brazen assault on our judicial, starting with a shameful vilification of our Chief Justice. Their promise of change, a sham, with schemes afoot to funnel our mineral wealth to their cronies,” he said.

“Worst of all, their questionable ablique cannot rerun, where NDC-affiliated attacks have tired our candidates, Nana Ekwe Afriye, former MP Hawa Kumse, and journalists expose their willingness to trample democracy with violence. The message is clear. NDC is a failure. Ghana deserves better.”
