The Women of Valour initiative, founded by celebrated media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, on Tuesday hosted a heartfelt event themed “Seats of Strength” at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, Accra.

The event brought together breast cancer survivors, patients currently undergoing treatment, health professionals, and supporters to share stories of hope, healing, and resilience. It formed part of activities marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which aims to promote early detection, combat stigma, and strengthen support systems for affected women.

In her remarks, Nana Aba Anamoah highlighted the importance of solidarity and courage in the fight against breast cancer.

“To every woman fighting, every woman healing, every woman standing in support — we want to remind you that Seats of Strength is here for you,” she said.

Obuobia Darko-Opoku, Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares) Secretariat, also delivered an inspiring message, urging survivors and patients to stay strong.

“To those still fighting, you are not alone. Your battle is our battle. Your scars are not symbols of defeat — they are marks of survival,” she encouraged.

The event also underscored the importance of creating safe spaces where individuals can share their stories freely and without fear of judgment. Organizers noted that open conversations empower survivors to inspire others while helping to break the stigma often associated with breast cancer.

A major highlight of the programme was the announcement that several breast cancer survivors had won a fully funded trip to London to participate in the next Women of Valour event, scheduled for March 2026. The gesture was celebrated as a powerful recognition of their courage and resilience in overcoming life’s toughest battles.

Organizers said the gesture reflects Nana Aba Anamoah’s unwavering commitment to empowering women and promoting breast cancer awareness across Ghana and beyond.

The Women of Valour initiative, led by Nana Aba, celebrates women with remarkable stories of courage and resilience. Through its events, it offers a platform for women to connect, share experiences, and inspire future generations.

By hosting impactful programmes like “Seats of Strength,” Women of Valour continues to play a vital role in advancing women’s empowerment, encouraging early detection, and amplifying awareness about breast cancer.
