Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Campaign spokesperson and Special Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to choose Mahama over the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, citing Mahama’s integrity and dedication to fulfilling his promises.
In a social media post on Tuesday, 12 November, Mogtari questioned Dr Bawumia’s recent pledge to provide free dialysis treatment for renal patients, a programme announced to begin on 1 December.
She noted that Bawumia, as Vice President, already holds the authority to implement such initiatives, suggesting that the promise could have been acted upon sooner.
Madam Mogtari further highlighted that free dialysis treatment was already proposed by Mahama in the NDC’s “People’s Manifesto,” underscoring her belief that Mahama would be the more reliable leader in fulfilling such pledges.
She claimed Mahama’s approach to addressing Ghana’s healthcare needs is comprehensive and grounded in longstanding commitments.
Appealing to voters, Madam Mogtari emphasised that Mahama’s track record and dedication to social welfare demonstrate his integrity, urging Ghanaians to support his vision for the nation over that of his opponent.
“We are all prone to sharing our jaundiced partisan views on general issues without knowing that people actually see through the lens. Long before Dr Mahamudu Bawumia promised free dialysis treatments as a prerequisite for votes, the John Mahama and NDC in the People’s Manifesto had offered a similar promise. But of course, they didn’t see or hear that either.”
“Dear voters, between the Man currently in power and able to offer you anything you need but has refused to do so and the Man who has demonstrated over the years that he is a man who walks his talk. You have a clear choice, don’t be hoodwinked once again by lofty claims, and vote wisely,” she posted.
