The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that the suspended 2025/2026 recruitment screening exercise for the Greater Accra Region will resume on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
According to Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin of the Ghana Navy, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the screening will be conducted across eight sub-centers in five locations to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
Qualified applicants—grouped into batches of 600—will receive SMS notifications detailing their reporting dates, batch numbers, and assigned centers.
The designated screening centers are El-Wak Stadium (two centres), Nicholson Park at Burma Camp (two centers), the Air Force Base at Burma Camp, TRADOC in Teshie (two centres), and the Eastern Naval Command in Tema.
Applicants are advised to strictly follow the instructions in their SMS notifications and to check the recruitment portal for updates. Those who do not receive a message by November 20 are encouraged to contact the helpline or the official WhatsApp number for support.
GAF further stressed that applicants must report alone, as non-applicants—including family members—will not be granted access to reduce congestion.
The screening exercise was suspended after a tragic stampede that resulted in casualties. A Board of Inquiry is currently investigating the incident.
To strengthen transparency, the Greater Accra recruitment team has been reconstituted under new leadership: Commodore F.A. Nyarko, Colonel F. Kusi-Darko, and Colonel G.B. Eduah, overseeing Human Resources, Manpower, and Information Technology, respectively.
Captain Arhin assured the public that anyone found culpable will face the appropriate sanctions. She extended condolences to the bereaved families and confirmed that injured applicants will continue receiving free medical care at the 37 Military Hospital until full recovery. A special recruitment package will also be offered to the affected individuals and their families.
“The Ghana Armed Forces continues to count on the cooperation of the general public in this endeavor,” the statement concluded.
