A tragic accident near the Kasoa tollbooth in the Central Region on Sunday, October 26, has claimed several lives and left others in critical condition.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred when a Sprinter minibus (registration number GW 7455-18) heading towards Kasoa collided with the rear of a Jeep 4×4 (registration GR 7673), which was reportedly reversing on the highway.
The impact of the collision caused the minibus, which was carrying a full load of passengers, to somersault multiple times before landing in a severely damaged state. Some passengers died on the spot, while others were trapped inside the wreckage.
Residents and passersby rushed to the scene to assist emergency responders in rescuing the injured. One critically injured victim, initially taken to the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic, reportedly faced delays in being referred to a major facility as no hospital was immediately available to receive the patient.
