The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited is set to conduct a revenue mobilization exercise from Wednesday, January 15, to Friday, January 31, 2025, across all its operational areas.

The initiative, dubbed “Operation Keep the Lights On,” will focus on recovering arrears from customers across all categories. It will also involve inspections of prepaid meters to verify their integrity.

In a statement issued on January 13, ECG cautioned customers against self-reconnection after disconnection, emphasizing that such actions constitute a criminal offense and will result in legal consequences.

To ensure the success of the exercise, ECG announced that regional and district offices would operate with reduced staff, allowing senior management and staff to actively participate. Essential services to customers will, however, continue uninterrupted.

“ECG wishes to inform the public that the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI (2413) grants us full access to all our installations. We therefore urge customers and the general public to cooperate with ECG in fulfilling our mandate,”
