John Dumelo has kicked off his duties as elected Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon by providing a free bus ride for students of the University of Ghana, Legon, to travel to their hometowns for the yuletide.

This serves as a token of appreciation for their overwhelming support during the recently held parliamentary election.

Dumelo triumphed in the election by securing the majority of votes from all Legon polling centres to unseat the incumbent MP, Lydia Alhassan.

Their endorsement has helped in achieve his long-standing aspiration of becoming a legislator.

The bus ride will operate on Saturday, December 21, 2024, and will travel to several cities across the country, including Kumasi, Ejisu, Konongo, Ho, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Winneba, and Elmina.

Students can catch the buses at the Volta Hall car park, the designated meeting point for the journey.

Dumelo took to social media to express his gratitude, stating, “Dear Legon students, let me take you back home free for your Xmas holidays. You know I dey 4 u! Freeeeeeee Buses for all students!”

This initiative highlights Dumelo’s commitment to his constituents, particularly the students who played a key role in his success at the polls.
