The presidential campaign team of Dr. Bryan Acheampong has dismissed allegations made by a group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) organizers in the Ashanti Region, who blamed the Abetifi MP for the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.

In a statement issued on October 29, 2025, the campaign described the accusations as false and baseless, stating that it would not be drawn into what it called “provocations.”

The organizers, numbering 62 constituency and polling station executives, had released a statement on October 28 accusing Dr. Acheampong’s attempted acquisition of majority shares in SSNIT hotels—while he served as a Minister of State—of breaching public trust and contributing to the NPP’s electoral loss.

They argued that the move angered SSNIT contributors, prompting some to vote and campaign against the party.

Responding to the claims, the Bryan Acheampong campaign’s Communications Directorate refuted the allegations, pointing out that the petition included the names of unwilling individuals and even a deceased person as signatories, and was filled with “insults and unfounded accusations.”

Despite the accusations, the campaign said it has chosen restraint, explaining that the decision not to engage was made out of respect for party unity and in line with discussions held with Former President Akufo-Addo.

“We will not dignify these provocations with a response,” the statement read, urging supporters to avoid responding or returning insults.

The campaign reaffirmed its focus on respectful engagement with delegates, advancing ideas to strengthen the NPP, and preparing for a decisive victory in 2028.

It concluded by thanking Asanteman and supporters nationwide for their continued confidence and overwhelming support for Dr. Acheampong.
