The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu arrived in Cape Coast on Thursday morning for a historic Fetu Afahye, which also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Oguaamanhen, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II.

He first called on the Oguaamanhen, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, at the Emintsimadze Palace to receive the “key” of entry to the traditional area.

From there, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II would be honoured with a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa at a special congregation at the University of Cape Coast.

The award is in recognition for his distinguished statesmanship, contribution to education in Ghana, as a purveyor of traditional jurisprudence, advocate of rule of law, promoter of peace and stability, visionary and generational thinker, entrepreneur, guardian of culture and role model.
