Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 presidential election, has taken a pioneering step by introducing a personalised AI chatbot.

The chatbot, known as Bawumia GPT, allows voters to directly engage with the Vice President and ask questions about his plans for the country, offering a novel way for political interaction.

The platform, accessible at www.bawumiagpt.com, enables users to communicate with Dr. Bawumia digitally, as part of his strategy to integrate high technology into his campaign.

Voters can ask the Vice President about his policies and receive real-time responses from the AI-powered chatbot, making it one of the few instances globally where AI has been used positively in an electoral campaign.

Globally, political use of AI as a campaign tool is rare. Some figures such as US Democratic Congressional candidate Shamaine Daniels and Pakistan’s Imran Khan, have used AI for limited engagements.
