Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has commended President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie as Ghana’s new Chief Justice, describing him as an exemplary choice for the position.
Addressing Parliament on Thursday, November 13, Dr. Ayine lauded Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s integrity, qualifications, and vast judicial experience, which he said make him exceptionally fit for the role.
“The President made the right choice. Justice Baffoe-Bonnie has demonstrated high moral character, proven integrity, and over 15 years of legal experience. Having served on the Supreme Court for more than a decade without any integrity concerns, he brings the kind of experience Ghana needs at this time,” Dr. Ayine said.
He also revealed that the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) had conducted a comprehensive background check on Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, which confirmed his spotless record.
“The NIB’s report gave him a clean bill of health,” Dr. Ayine emphasized.
