Information reaching Lyon Republic states that the Black Stars allegedly left strange objects on the Martyrs of February Stadium pitch after a training session in the lead up to its crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan.
The big game kicks off at 13:00 GMT on Tuesday, October 15 in Benghazi, Libya due to security concerns in Sudan after the first of the double header ended goalless in Accra.
After its training session, Sudan officials reported to Libyan football authorities about strange objects left behind on the pitch after the Black Stars training session.
The alleged strange objects have been identified as pieces of garlic that were spotted on the pitch before Sudan took their turn to train.
Garlic is generally used to ward off bad spirits; this development comes on the back of the Black Stars shocking string of misses against Sudan in Accra with many believing that the Black Stars unlucky streak has a “spiritual touch”.
Black Stars haven’t won a game at the past two AFCON editions held in 2021 and 2023.
