Following their groundbreaking road trip from Accra to London, in August 2023, Wanderlust Ghana is gearing up for an even more ambitious adventure on Monday, September 30.

The fearless travel collective is set to embark on a thrilling 30,000-kilometer journey, spanning three months and covering 30 countries.

This was disclosed at a vibrant send-off celebration held at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park organised by Ghana Tourism Authority, on Sunday, September 8.

The epic expedition will take them from Accra to Paris, then Dubai, and finally, Cape Town, South Africa.

In 2023, the team did 10,000 kilometres from Accra  through many African countries to London in the United Kingdom through other European countries.

The CEO of Wanderlust Ghana,  Kwabena Peprah, said the upcoming trip was beyond mere adventure but a mission to put Ghana firmly on the global map and showcase its rich culture and beauty to the world.

“For us, this time around, it’s about making Ghana a tourist destination for most foreigners,” Peprah emphasised, speaking of the group’s ambition to showcase the country’s potential on the world stage.

He candidly admitted that car troubles pose a significant threat to the journey’s timeline, but with unwavering optimism, he quipped, “We’re embracing the challenge and reveling in the journey.”

The Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, are collaborating with Wanderlust on this ambitious project.

In a speech, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyeman, said the adventure will boost Ghana’s tourism.

“This adventure will give Ghana mileage in terms of tourism, considering the various media stops they would have at the destinations in other countries,” he said.

The team’s journey will take them across diverse terrains, from the deserts of Mauritania to the skyscrapers of Dubai, and eventually down to the southern tip of Africa in Cape Town. Their route will include stops in countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Spain, France, Turkey, Kenya, and many more.

Last year, it was an epic story of a road trip from one continent to the other, that is from Accra in Ghana through many African countries to London in the United Kingdom through other European countries, when Wanderlust Ghana took a trip of about 10,000 kilometres.

The participants were Richard Anim, Kwadwo Saka, Kwame Peprah, Kofi Peprah, Kwadwo Prakah-Asante, Franklin Peters and his son Quincy, Joseph, Cyprian Ed, Kwabena Ayirebi and his brother Kojo and the only female in the pack, Nana Afua Serwaa, also known as “Shecanic”.  They started the journey as a group of 12 people and are using five different Ghanaian registered vehicles, a Mercedez Benz G-Wagon, two Toyota Landcruisers (V8), Lexus RX 350 and a Ford F150, Raptor.

On a daily basis, each of the vehicles they are using used about 250 litres of fuel. Averagely they do about 800km to 900km in a day.
