The Denkyira Traditional Council has officially lifted the ban on funerals, noise-making, and social gatherings across the Denkyira Traditional Area, marking the end of the sacred period observed ahead of the enthronement and coronation of the 26th King of the Denkyira Kingdom.
The ban, which began on September 22, 2025, was instituted to preserve peace, order, and spiritual purity during the coronation rites.
Announcing the decision at the 8th Akwasidae Festival held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Amponsem Ahenfie in Dunkwa-on-Offin, the Denkyirahene, Odeefour Boa Amponsem IV, declared that all social activities could now resume.
He expressed profound gratitude to chiefs, elders, and citizens of Denkyira for their patience, discipline, and cooperation throughout the period of observance.
Odeefour Boa Amponsem IV called on the people to continue fostering unity, peace, and mutual respect as the foundation for Denkyira’s development. He reaffirmed his commitment to serve with humility and dedication, noting that the kingdom’s strength and progress depend on the collective harmony of its people.
