Seventeen suspected drug users have been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command during a swoop conducted alongside a demolition exercise.

The operation targeted individuals allegedly involved in illegal activities within the demolition area. Police sources revealed that the suspects were apprehended while smoking substances believed to be Indian hemp and disrupting the exercise.

Confirming the arrests to Adom News, Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, ACP Tamimu Halidu, said all seventeen suspects are in custody and will undergo screening before being arraigned in court.

He reiterated the police’s commitment to ensuring law and order during such exercises and cautioned residents against using demolition or construction activities as cover for criminal acts.
