Students of the College of Health, Yamfo, in the Ahafo Region, are appealing to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister of Health to reverse the transfer of the school’s Director, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Ibrahim.
At a press conference, SRC President Yeboah Dennis Nkrumah said both students and staff were disheartened by the decision, describing Dr. Ibrahim’s leadership as transformational and instrumental to the institution’s progress.
He noted that under Dr. Ibrahim’s tenure, long-standing challenges such as inadequate accommodation and lecture halls had been addressed, leading to higher enrollment and improved academic performance.
“Since Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim assumed office, the College of Health, Yamfo has become one of the best in the country. His transfer will greatly affect our progress,” Nkrumah said.
TEIN Women Commissioners Boakye Pokuaa Agnes and Irene Affum Bema also commended Dr. Ibrahim’s administration for enhancing campus security through the installation of CCTV cameras and the construction of a perimeter wall.
The students are urging authorities to reconsider the transfer, emphasizing that Dr. Ibrahim’s continued leadership is essential to sustaining the college’s development.
