The Member of Parliament for Tema West, Lawyer James Enu, has assured the public that no one was trapped following the collapse of an uncompleted three-storey building in Klagon, Tema West Municipality.

The MP said excavation work has begun as a precautionary measure, noting that some squatters occasionally rest beneath the structure. However, there is no confirmation that anyone was caught under the debris.

Lawyer Enu revealed that the Tema West Municipal Assembly had previously directed the developer to halt construction after structural defects were identified. Despite this order, work was reportedly ongoing at the site.

He added that the Assembly intends to pursue legal action against the property owner for ignoring official safety warnings.
