The two ongoing court cases involving Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, have been adjourned to November 12 and December 4, 2025.

In the first case, which involves allegations that Wontumi permitted mining operations on his Samreboi concession without the necessary approval, the court granted an adjournment to November 12 after the prosecution requested more time to serve the defense with all relevant disclosures.

The second case, accusing Wontumi of engaging in mining within the Tano Nimire Forest Reserve without authorization, was postponed to December 4 due to the presiding judge being on leave.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General has withdrawn charges against Edward Akuoko, General Manager of Akonta Mining—a company owned by Wontumi. Akuoko will now serve as a prosecution witness in the ongoing proceedings.
