A fire that broke out at dawn has destroyed several properties at Tabora Number 4, near the New Market in Accra.

Eyewitnesses reported that the blaze gutted a tyre shop, a provision store, a carpentry workshop, and a self-contained house, leaving extensive damage in its wake.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly and were able to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.

No casualties have been reported, but residents say the affected businesses have suffered significant losses.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway.
