A confrontation broke out at Ablekuma Fanmilk on Wednesday night after a motorbike rider from Omanjor allegedly knocked down a policewoman identified as Rosemary, who is said to be a lactating mother.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the rider, who operates within the Omanjor area, hit the officer with his motorbike, leaving her unconscious.

Both the rider and the injured policewoman were rushed to Mab Hospital at Ablekuma Fanmilk for emergency treatment.

Eyewitnesses said that friends of the motor rider later arrived at the hospital and transferred him to another medical facility. In response, some residents of Fanmilk reportedly seized the motorbike involved in the crash.

Shortly after the incident, a group of Okada riders from Omanjor reportedly stormed the Ablekuma Fanmilk area to retrieve the seized motorbike, triggering heated exchanges and confusion between them and local residents.

The motorbike, with registration number M-24-GW 1828, was said to have been operating without functioning lights for about a week. Residents also noted that the same stretch of road has recorded several motorcycle accidents in recent times.

They have since appealed to the Ga Central Municipal Assembly to expedite work on the Fanmilk–Sowutuom Road, which they describe as a major accident-prone area due to its poor condition.
