The Euro 2024 semi-finals are in the books, and we’re now left what promises to be a blockbuster final between England and Spain. England and Spain will face off in the final of Euro 2024. Yamal starred for Spain in the semi-final win over France. Watkins netted a dramatic winner for England

The two teams knocked out the Netherlands and France respectively to earn their place in the final in Berlin on Sunday.

Ahead of that game, as part of our 24 for 24 series, 90min have ranked the top five performing players from the two fascinating semi-final games.

5. Kobbie Mainoo

Kobbie Mainoo played pretty damn well in his maiden Euro 2024 start in the quarter-finals, but took his game to another level in the semi-finals.

The youngster was genuinely brilliant against the Dutch, linking up with Phil Foden well throughout and doing his defensive duties too – winning every single duel he partook in.

4. Ollie Watkins

On Wednesday evening, Ollie Watkins scored what will go down as one of the most famous goals in English footballing history.

And what a goal it was too.

The substitute’s turning effort which settled in the bottom left corner of the net was a thing of beauty.

3. Dani Olmo

Euro 2024’s current top goalscorer despite only starting 50% of Spain’s games – it’s fair to say that Dani Olmo has made his minutes count in Germany this summer.

The attacking midfielder’s moment of magic in the first half against France booked his nation’s ticket to the final, and his all-round performance was fantastic too.

2. Phil Foden

Good God, that first half performance.

It was utterly absurd.

The FWA Footballer of the Year finally brought his club form to the international stage during that 45 minutes against the Netherlands, running the opposition defense absolutely ragged.

1. Lamine Yamal

The youngest ever goalscorer at either a European Championships or a World Cup, and Lamine Yamal became the holder of the record by scoring the goal of the tournament against France in the semi-finals.

He is the best 16-year-old footballer all time. And he’s already world class.

It’s ridiculous.
