The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new self-posting module aimed at streamlining the recruitment process for the first batch of 2022
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new self-posting module aimed at streamlining the recruitment process for the first batch of 2022 degree holders from Public Colleges of Education.
The new module that will allow the graduates to select their preferred region, district and school for their posting via the GES portal (www.gespromotions.gov.gh) will begin operating from today to July 31, 2024.
The Director-General of the GES, Dr Eric Nkansah, made this known during a press briefing in Accra yesterday.
Applicants
On May 11, 2024, the Director-General of the GES said the Service had invited applications from qualified trained teachers who graduated with a first degree from Public Colleges of Education.
He said the service received a total of 21,010 applications, out of which 12,784 were deemed qualified.
Dr Nkansah explained that the self-posting module was designed to ensure that newly trained teachers were posted to regions where they could communicate effectively in the local language, thereby enhancing the teaching and learning environment.
He further said the system would allow teachers to choose schools close to their families, providing economic and social support.
Access
To access their appointment letters on the platform, he urged qualified applicants to visit the GES portal. Furthermore, he said, applicants must enter their College Index Number for qualification verification.
“Enter your phone number and NTC number accurately. This is crucial for validation and your successful application,” he said. Dr Nkansah added that applicants would receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on the provided phone number and then enter their OTP.
“Carefully select the preferred region, district and school, and then submit the application. “Save and print the Appointment Letter,” he stressed. Dr Nkansah indicated that each appointment letter would include a QR code for verification purposes.
Applicants, he said, could scan the code with their smartphones to confirm the letter’s authenticity, saying, “this is to eliminate the occurrence of fake appointment letters”.
“Successful applicants are required to visit their respective Regional Education Directorates with their Ghana Card and other necessary documents for further verification and instructions,” he added.
