Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has recently shared insights into the value he brings to Austin Football Club after his move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) team.
Having joined Austin earlier this year from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade on a three and a half year deal, Bukari arrives with a winning momentum, having secured back-to-back league and cup titles with Red Star.
Head coach of Austin FC, Josh Wolff, has expressed admiration for the acquisition of Bukari, touting the Ghanaian international as a dynamic player.
In an interview with Austin FC media, Bukari elaborated on his playing style, emphasizing his speed, dribbling ability, and knack for making runs to receive the ball from midfielders or defenders.
“I have speed, dribbling so I use that all of the time. When my midfielder or defender has the ball, I need to make the runs so that they can put the ball behind the defenders so that’s my quality I have. One against one, good finishing that’s the quality I have.”
Austin Football Club Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell says that Ghana winger Osman Bukari has the right characteristics that fit the profile of players the club looked to sign.
Borrell doubled down on this by stating that Bukari has the right characteristics and that led to his arrival at the club.
“Well it’s not only about one game obviously…It’s about looking at the characteristics we are looking for a player each one of the positions that we are trying to implement the way we want to play and he was one of the ones who fit in this profile. In the end we got it over the line and he is finally here.”
While Bukari is yet to make his debut for Austin, he has seamlessly integrated into the team following his involvement in Ghana’s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
