As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race heats up, 63 Members of Parliament have officially declared their support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
At a press conference in Parliament, the MPs described Dr. Bawumia as the most capable leader to reorganize the party and secure victory over the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mampong MP Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong said all 63 lawmakers had voluntarily signed a declaration of support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid.
Prominent among the signatories are Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Nsawam-Adoagyiri), Frank Asiedu Bekoe (Suhum), John Ntim Fordjour (Assin South), and Ekow Vincent Assafuah (Tafo).
The MP for Trobu, also a member of the “NPP MPs for Dr. Bawumia” group, explained that their endorsement stems from Dr. Bawumia’s track record of leadership, competence, and vision to unite the NPP and accelerate national development.
